Armor Optimization Guide for Arc Raiders

Optimize your armor in Arc Raiders for maximum protection. Armor types, damage reduction, weight tradeoffs, and the best armor for every playstyle.

Armor Types Explained

Arc Raiders features light, medium, and heavy armor categories. Each offers different levels of protection, mobility, and weight. Your armor choice should match your playstyle and raid objectives. There is no single best armor type because the right choice depends on what you are doing.

Damage Reduction Mechanics

Armor reduces incoming damage by a percentage based on its tier and rarity. Higher tier armor blocks more damage but weighs more. Rarity increases the protection bonus without adding extra weight, making rare and epic armor especially valuable.

Light Armor: Speed Build

Light armor maximizes your movement speed and stamina. Ideal for farming runs, exploration, and hit and run tactics. You trade protection for agility. Best paired with ranged weapons so you can maintain distance from threats.

Heavy Armor: Tank Build

Heavy armor turns you into a walking fortress. Maximum damage reduction but significant speed penalties. Best for team play where you can absorb damage while teammates deal it. Less practical for solo raids due to reduced escape options.

Medium Armor: The Balanced Choice

Medium armor balances protection and mobility. It handles most situations competently without excelling in any extreme. The safest choice for players who switch between solo and team play or who want a versatile loadout.
